Lorenzo Sierra

Lorenzo is among a new class of Latino leaders in Arizona - someone who is proud of his deep roots in the state and focused on building a brighter future for all. He believes in the people and promise of Legislative District 22. He is bringing meaningful improvements and investments so we can build the community we want.

A member of Arizona’s House of Representatives, Lorenzo is delivering on his promise of developing a diverse, educated, economically robust, and vibrant community. A community where everyone is represented, respected, and has a chance of succeeding. Lorenzo’s promise to our community is improving investment in education, creating good jobs and building thriving communities.

Lorenzo Sierra’s story began with the same humble roots that define so many stories in pursuit of the American Dream.

The son of a Vietnam veteran and copper miner, Lorenzo came up through the public school system in Tucson’s impoverished Sunnyside School District. He was the first in his family to make it to – and through – college, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Arizona State University. He began a career in corporate communications, creating award-winning marketing and community development projects that earned him a career in Fortune 100 and 500 industries.

Lorenzo almost died from COVID-19 early in the pandemic, requiring four days on a ventilator and weeks in the ICU. This only strengthened his resolve to improve access to healthcare for all. He fought to bring the first COVID-19 testing site into Legislative District 22 and vaccines into local neighborhoods.
His roots and experiences drive his passion as a community advocate. His proven ability to innovate and collaborate, bringing meaningful improvements to individuals and communities, makes him a trusted leader as a member of Arizona’s House of Representatives.

Having experienced the American Dream firsthand, Lorenzo is determined to give back. Investing in education, creating good jobs and building thriving communities are the cornerstone of his service, delivering on the promise of the American Dream for those he serves.

Lorenzo and his wife Rhonda are proud to call Arizona and Legislative District 22 home where they have raised their family, including two very friendly dogs.
